About Coach Byrd

Coach Ronte Byrd has over eight years of experience with private training, high school coaching, volunteer coaching, and event coordinating/ tournament planning. He utilizes curriculum based training methods to help players maximize their potential. Coach Byrd has worked with elementary, intermediate and collegiate level athletes.

What services do we offer?

Our basketball lessons are offered in different formats including beginners classes, private one on one, group training, house visits, clinics, and birthday parties. CBT is based in New Haven County, CT. We travel all over Connecticut, including: Fairfield, Bridgeport, Stratford, Trumbull, Easton, Weston, Wilton, Westport, Norwalk, New Canaan, Darien, Shelton, Monroe, Milford, Naugatuck, Derby, Seymour, Prospect, New Haven, Hamden, Ansonia, Wolcott, Waterbury and more.

PRIVATE/GROUP TRAINING

CBT offers private and group basketball lessons all spring/summer and fall. Suitable for children aged 5-17 years of age. Sessions are held at local parks in the neighborhood or we conduct house visits if you have a hoop at your home.

Camps & clinics

CBT offers several camps and clinics throughout the year including our Thanksgiving Giveback, Adaptive Clinic, and our Summer basketball camp held @Assumption School.. Volunteers from Amity Regional High School, Saint Joseph High School in Trumbull, Ansonia High School and college athlete alumni help make these great events a success.

Birthday Parties

Looking for ideas for your child's birthday coming up? Coach Byrd Training LLC now does birthday parties!!! Have a private basketball trainer come to your house or a local park. This will be great for your child and their friends. Please reach out for more details.

Sunday Basketball Beginners class & Middle school classes

Every Sunday come join our beginner class at the Derby Community Center. Sunday basketball beginners class times are 11:30-12:30 every Sunday all year around. Ages 8-11. Middle school classes ages 11-14. Times are at 12:30-1:30.

CBT Basketball Tournaments

The CBT Valley Alumni Tournament is an annual event with every town in the Valley (DERBY, SHELTON, ANSONIA, WOODLAND, NAUGATUCK & SEYMOUR). Every alumni gets a chance to come back and win the championship for bragging rights. We also do 3 on 3 tournaments, 5 on 5 tournaments, adult mens leagues & more.
